Dr. John B. Cooney is Professor Emeritus of the University of Northern Colorado, Department of Educational Psychology where he was a member of the faculty from 1980 - 2005.  He was also an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Applied Statistics and Research Methods.  Additionally, Dr. Cooney served as an Associate Vice President at the University of Colorado in the Office of the President from 2005 - 2012. John specializes in learning and memory, mathematical cognition, applied statistics and research methodology.  He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees at Texas A&M University.  As the founder of JBlanden Associates, John is focusing on assisting private and public organizations with instructional design, measurement, evaluation and policy analysis. His current focus is working with educators to integrate "simple" evidence-based practices that facilitate students' learning of middle school mathematics into their instructional practice.
