Casey DeRaad is chief of Technology & Education Outreach for the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Space Vehicles and Directed Energy Directorates. She leads the laboratory’s Technology Transfer Group, the Phillips Technology Institute, the Small Business Innovation Research program, the directorate’s corporate communications group, and oversees marketing, graphics, and protocol offices. DeRaad, having earned her bachelor’s of science and master’s of science in electrical engineering from the University of New Mexico in 1985 and 1992 respectively, is a 20-year employee of the Air Force. Among many other awards and honors achieved at the laboratory, she received the 2008 Air Force Distinguished EEO Award (Hispanic Employment Award), one of the Air Force most prestigious awards.
